Flower bags 3.5 gram extraction bags are recommended for optimal yield and clean quality rosin. These bags are hand-made in the USA!
Flower bags extraction bags are specifically designed to work with the weight of fresh cured flower together with the extraction machines and come in 3 sizes: these 3.5 g (1.1 – 3.5 g) bags, 7 g (3.6 – 7 g) bags and 14 g (7.1 – 14 g) bags.
This assumes the bags are loaded bottle/barrel-tech style (BTS). This means loading them upright so that you end up with a round, coin-like puck once fully pressed
The BTS method allows you to put the proper weight of flower into the bag and get a consistent extraction every time. It also allows for the proper pounds per square inch of pressure (PSI) on your product and eliminates the guess work.
- 3.5 g bags (1.1 – 3.5 g) = 1.5″ – 1.6” diameter
- 7 g bags (3.6 – 7 g) = 2″ – 2.2” diameter
- 14 g bags (7.1 – 14 g) = 2.4″ – 2.7″ diameter
As the micron count gets smaller the diameter get larger, which is why you see a variance in the diameter numbers above. We prefer to use 160 micron for fresh flower and as the flower dries, we go down in micron screen size (for dry flower use 90 micron). Micron size determines the diameter (surface area) of the smashed bag. For nugs 1 g and smaller, no bag is necessary.

Does the Cannabis react to the nitrogen?
Nope. Nitrogen is totally inert, which stops oxidation in its tracks. Even if you keep cannabis in good conditions, over time it will still oxidize and the chlorophyll will break down. So oxygen is one of the most important things to eliminate from storage. Cannabis packaging should prevent the main things that degrade cannabis: sunlight, oxygen, moisture and heat. As long as you keep it from getting too warm you can preserve your cannabis for as long as possible.
